HANOVER - Founded in 1948, this year's Annual Hanover Pennsylvania Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday, May 27, 2024 at 8:30 AM.
The parade will move south along Carlisle and Baltimore Streets on a 1.4-mile direct route to Mount Olivet Cemetery (725 Baltimore Street, Hanover, PA 17331), taking approximately 30-45 minutes.
At Mount Olivet Cemetery, a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the platform near the soldiers’ monument. During the ceremony, the PA National Guard will provide three volleys of cannon fire, the Allied Veterans Council Honor Guard will render a 21-gun salute with three volleys of rifle fire. An Honor Guard bugler will perform Taps.
The parade will start forming at 7:30 AM on Carlisle Street between Chestnut Street and Library Place. All parade participants need to be lined up by 8:00 AM. All local Veterans are encouraged to participate in the parade.
There will be no parking available on Carlisle and Baltimore Streets along the entire parade route.
If the parade is canceled because of rain, then the Memorial Day ceremony will take place at the American Legion Post #14 (201 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331), at 9:00 AM in the ballroom. Information regarding cancellations due to weather can be found on the Facebook group page:
